Title: "Because of France"
Featuring: 2" center focal bead wrapped in sterling that is detachable from the
graduated bead strand and can also be featured as a brooch!

Elizabeth a Maine native and Pat a Connecticut native first met in France at a bead workshop
in 2005. When Pat saw this challenge announced, she could only think of entering it with
Elizabeth. The name of the challenge was Convergence and the theme was the four
Elements: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. The two artists shipped ideas, sketches, and beads
back and forth from Maine and Connecticut until the final design was executed. The team was
selected as finalists in the competition and the piece is now on tour at the Ohio Glass
Museum, Lancaster, OH, Bead and Button Show, Milwaukee, WI, Windisch-Hunt Fine Arts
Gallery, Coconut Grove, FL and finally at the ISGB Gathering in Florida 2009.
